16 eco-friendly ways to get rid of ants

 

In our home it is not pleasant to have ants, but in the garden, they can also be the beginning of pests that can cause damage to plants. That is why I leave you these 16 ways to get rid of ants both in our house and for the garden.

Green ways to get rid of ants

  1. Mix soap and water in a spray bottle and spray the ants.
  2. Many ants have a natural aversion to cucumbers, so take advantage of them. You can make a spray by leaving them to soak overnight, in infusion, directly leaving the shells where you know the ants enter, etc.
  3. Leave a few peppermint tea bags near areas where the ants seem most active. Dried crushed mint leaves also work as an ant deterrent.
  4. At ant entry points, or on any tours they take, add the following: cloves, cayenne pepper, citrus essential oil, lemon juice, cinnamon, or coffee grounds.
  5. If ants enter through cracks in the ground, you can tuck several cloves of peeled and halved garlic between the cracks to repel them.
