Almonds, what are they good for? Know why they are so healthy

The almond is a food that is included in the group of Nuts , like walnuts, pistachios, hazelnuts or cashews (also known as cashew nuts or cashew nuts).

The almond blossom is white in color and is one of the first to appear when spring arrives and gives us this seed that we turn into a dried fruit to ingest and benefit from its multiple properties.

The almonds are located inside the fruit of the sweet almond tree, covered by a hard, brown shell, which we must remove in order to take them. In addition, it covers a small layer, as if it were a second skin, of a darker brown color that is also usually removed, although if we ingest it it can provide us with an extra contribution of properties.

At first glance you will be able to recognize this dried fruit for being oval in shape, white in color, more elongated than thick and for having a certain hardness in its texture.

Nutritional properties of almonds

If you want to take advantage of all these benefits of almonds and make them more digestible, it is advisable to leave them soaking in water for 8 hours. Then you strain them, remove the skin and you can eat them as is or even make a delicious and nutritious almond milk or drink .
