Dust mite allergy, how to alleviate it with home remedies

Dust allergy? This allergy is actually caused by allergens in dust. An allergen is a substance that can cause an allergy. One of these allergens is the dust mite or house mite, Dermatophagoides pteronyssinus .

Rather, what causes the allergy is not the mite itself, but its fecal particles . In the dust, a multitude of debris is concentrated, such as the scales of our skin (on which the mites feed) and that is why these microorganisms live in the dust.

In some cases, allergy to house mites can cause or worsen asthma, especially in children.

But … what is a dust mite? Dust mites or house mites are tiny insects (we cannot see them with the naked eye because they only measure between 0.2 and 0.5 millimeters), they are a subclass of arachnids that, as indicated before, can act as allergens. They live around us because they feed on our dead skin cells. Mites are responsible for half of the allergies we suffer from. Even with very strict personal and household hygiene, we would not be able to eliminate all the mites, but we can take some measures to reduce their number and alleviate the symptoms that mite allergy can cause.

Although we suffer from mites throughout the year, as hot and humid climates prefer, spring and fall are clearly the worst times for people with a dust mite allergy .

Through various medical tests, allergy specialists can know if the allergy we suffer from is to mites.
