Using ginger for inflammation, muscle aches, or sprains

The ginger has many properties and medicinal uses that we can leverage as we need. In addition to being able to make infusions , extracts , add it to recipes, etc. Another way we can use it is through its external or local application.

With this natural and home remedy we are going to activate local blood circulation, reduce inflammation, reduce pain and promote rest.

You only need:

  • 40 gr of ginger
  • 3 garlic cloves
  • 1 tablespoon of coarse salt


In a mortar, crush the ginger (without peeling). When you see that it is quite crushed, add the peeled garlic cloves, salt and continue crushing until you see that the three ingredients are integrated.

In the center of a gauze or thin cotton cloth, pour the mixture and wrap it well, to make a small package. Put this package on the area to be treated (for example on the knee, ankle, lumbar …) and fix it with a bandage. Leave it for 6 to 7 hours. You will notice a sensation of heat over the area very soon.

It is not recommended to use it on open wounds.
