Uses of aloe vera for acne

There are many studies on the use of aloe vera in conjunction with traditional acne medications, with great results. If the acne you suffer is mild to moderate, here we will show you different methods of applying aloe vera to gently calm the skin and make both acne and its marks disappear.

Pure aloe vera used topically

The first recommended use is to use the aloe vera pulp directly, in its natural form. As you may already know, aloe vera has anti-inflammatory, antioxidant and the most important for acne antibacterial properties. With this combination of qualities, cleaning wounds, relieving pain or healing burns and insect bites,  is a very simple thing. This is why aloe vera has been used for centuries to apply directly to wounds on the skin.

Very few people are allergic to aloe vera and much less when it is used topically, thus there are hardly any risks in its use. If you want more information about  100% pure aloe vera gel visit this article.

How to apply pure aloe vera topically

When you have access to pure aloe vera, freshly extracted from a leaf, you can apply it generously to the face, substituting for cleansers, achieving increased blood flow and eliminating any harmful bacteria, reducing redness and irritation.

Next, we propose different home methods to treat acne with aloe vera at home.

1- Aloe Vera, Honey and Cinnamon Mask

The antibacterial properties of aloe vera can help control and reduce acne-causing bacteria. Two other ingredients that have been studied and found to have this same effect are cinnamon and honey. By combining all three for a home spa treatment, you will increase your chances of smooth, acne-free skin.

Application of the Aloe Vera, Honey and Cinnamon Mask :

Start with 2 tablespoons of pure honey and mix 1 tablespoon of pure aloe vera. The mixture should be easy to spread, but not runny. Mix 1/4 tablespoon of ground cinnamon before applying the mask to your face and relax while the mask works its magic for 5 to 10 minutes. Rinse well after application.

2- Aloe Vera and Lemon Juice Mask

A mask with aloe vera and lemon juice will give your face a renewed and invigorated look while cleaning your pores and eliminating some of the bacteria that could be causing your acne. Some clinical trials have shown that fruit acids, such as those in lemon juice, are effective cleansers for treating acne.

Application of the Aloe Vera and Lemon Mask

For this mask, use pure aloe vera as a base, adding about 1/4 teaspoon of lemon juice to 2 tablespoons of aloe vera. If you need more to apply this mask evenly to your skin, be sure to keep a ratio of lemon juice to aloe around 8 to 1 so you don’t irritate or overwhelm your skin with the acidity of citrus. Leave the mixture on your skin for 5-10 minutes before rinsing off completely.

3- Aloe Vera Antibacterial Spray

Because aloe vera encourages skin cells to grow healthily, it might be worth buying it or making your own aloe cleansing spray. This mist hydrates your face without causing shine or overproduction of oils, which can clog your pores.

Aloe Vera Spray Application

Using a spray bottle, combine 100ml of purified water, 200ml of Aloe Vera and a drop or two of your favorite non-toxic essential oil. Take care to avoid your eyes when you spray this refreshing acne-fighting mist on your face and shake well before each use.

4- Exfoliation with Aloe Vera, Sugar and Coconut Oil

If you are interested in natural acne remedies, you may want to combine aloe vera with coconut oil and sugar for a DIY scrub. Exfoliating the skin removes dead cells that can block pores.

Raw or white cane sugar can gently remove these old cells, clearing a path for aloe vera to penetrate your skin and stimulate healthy skin growth. Coconut oil has its own antibacterial properties and it also works as a natural emollient. The main acid in coconut oil has been studied and found to be a promising treatment for acne. Mixing all three together could leave your skin feeling smooth and fresh.

Application of the Aloe Vera, Sugar and Coconut Oil Mask

Use coconut oil as a base, adding about 1/2 cup of coconut oil to 1/2 cup of raw or white sugar and mixing well. Pour in 1/4 cup of pure aloe vera gel for an exfoliating mixture that you can store in the refrigerator. To use it, gently rub the mixture on your face and avoid your eye area. Rinse well with water after use.

5- Aloe Vera and Tea Tree Oil

Since tea tree oil is an antibacterial and acne-fighting ingredient, mixing it with aloe vera has the potential to produce visible benefit. This is not a mixture that you should leave on your face, as tea tree oil is extremely potent and acidic.

Application of the Aloe Vera and Tea Tree Mask

Use aloe vera as your base, add purified water and 2 to 3 drops of tea tree oil before carefully applying the mixture on your face. Rinse after a minute and pat your face dry.

6- Aloe Vera Creams

Many over-the-counter acne creams and acne treatment products include aloe vera. If you are not using products that contain aloe vera, you may consider looking for a few to add to your routine.

Aloe vera has anti-inflammatory abilities that make it a popular ingredient in commercial acne treatments. Check the ingredient listings in the acne treatment section of the drugstore to see how you could add more aloe vera to your routine to take care of your skin.

Pure Aloe Vera Drink for Acne

Even more important, to eliminate acne and pimples, is the oral intake of aloe juice.

Aloe vera juice, drunk regularly, acts in depth by purifying the entire organism and eliminating toxins and hormonal imbalances that caused the formation of acne and, therefore, pimples.

To cure acne (but also for many other problems), aloe vera juice should be taken every day, in the amount of a spoon, three times a day, half an hour before meals (breakfast, lunch and dinner). This until completing a jar of juice. If after completing the first bottle, the acne problem still persists, wait 10-15 days and start again to prepare another bottle of juice, which will be taken in the same way.

There are many ways to try Aloe Vera as a home acne treatment. If your acne is mild or moderate, the research is on your side. Aloe Vera has been found to be an effective treatment for bacteria and acne. With very little risk and a high chance of success, most people should feel optimistic about using Aloe Vera as part of their daily hygiene routine.
