The universe of artificial hedges is immense. A few years ago, at most, we found synthetic ivy hedges around, but today the assortment is really full of various possibilities. The colors and shades are varied and adaptable to various styles. Gradient green leaves look real. Some recall geometric motifs such as rhombuses, triangles or circles. Composition and tips for easy assembly

Artificial hedges are made up of leaves of various shapes, colors or sizes, of synthetic material, usually PVC or polypropylene, mounted on a PVC net of predefined dimensions. But how are artificial hedges assembled? It is certainly a very simple thing that does not require the availability of particular equipment. First of all it is useful to roll up the hedge fabric, then fix the edge of the roll to the starting point where it must be placed, using wire, proceed by unrolling the roll and fixing it gradually with other wire at various points of the railing to which it is to be installed. On the market there are also self-supporting synthetic hedges, i.e. rigid hedges that are mounted on an autonomous pedestal to be installed there where there are no pre-existing supports.

Artificial hedge: Costs of the various types of synthetic hedge

We now come to the economic aspect. How much does it cost us to install an artificial hedge? In terms of manpower we have already said that with a little good will the cost is almost zero. As for the purchase of the hedge itself, the price may vary according to the characteristics of the chosen product. The standard measure that is usually on the market is one meter in height by three meters in length. Three linear meters of simple hedge are around 20 euros, if instead you choose the darkening or shading one, the price goes up and can reach up to 30 euros. The price goes down if you have to fence the perimeter of a garden and in this case we start from 3 or 4 euros per linear meter. The self-supporting hedge complete with base for one linear meter costs around 35 euros.
