Baptism flowers

The occasion for good wishes

Our life and our society are objectively full of occasions for which there is a need to give or exchange greetings: birthdays, name days, father’s / mother’s / grandparents’ holidays, anniversaries and much more. On the one hand, one could analyze the commercial purposes and the economic interests that some people have by putting “around” the habits or fashions of celebrating certain occasions. In particular we could take the example of Halloween, which is a fun party and suitable in its simplicity for all ages; the fact is, however, that it is not native to our culture and is not at all consistent with what we think. In fact, it has been very right and has been widespread overseas for some time, or in the United States of America, where it is a piece of the social and also religious culture of the time, with a precise meaning and also some related rituals (perhaps a little lost today); on our side of the ocean, however, it has been spread only for commercial purposes, to sell cans, clothes, masks and tickets for parties and large Halloween parties, but in reality all this has little to do with what we believe. In short, it would be like introducing Christmas into a Muslim culture: maybe it can like it and spread, but it has nothing to do with their history at all.

Give flowers

Flowers are one of the most loved and appreciated gifts at every level; well, they are both very popular for personal occasions and for collective occasions. In particular, when you do not know what to give but do not want to brighten up the celebration at all, flowers are a perfect refuge that will surely be appreciated by those who receive them. Let me be clear, do not misunderstand what we have just said, going so far as to say that flowers are a fallback when we have no idea what to give; at all, flowers are often the first gift of several occasions: just think of Mother’s Day or even more of Women’s Day, when mimosas are the only (it is emphasized, the only) gift suitable for the party; but like this there are others, like the occasion of a recurrence of love between two partners: there the floral gift is taken for granted,

Baptism flowers: White flowers

We have said that the most suitable flowers for baptism are white flowers, and in fact this is the color of purity, the color that best expresses the sincere and pure spirit that all children and too few adults have. Even from a religious point of view, white is indicative of many occasions in which you want to celebrate the genuineness of what you are experiencing or of the person who is the protagonist, not surprisingly in a Catholic church (among those that require baptism) the dress for the baptism it is a white and simple dress, that is the most delicate clothing that can be found, in perfect match with the child. But what are white flowers? The flowers that also exist of white color are almost all those that we find in nature, while the man added his hand by donating “artificially” some colors to flowers that allowed it. A classic example is the blue rose: it exists in nature, but it is so rare that it is too expensive, so it is recreated by adding a natural dye to the water with which normal roses are watered, “turning” them into blue. However, for baptism the most used flowers are lilies, roses, calla lilies, gerberas and even daisies, in short, all simple and elegant flowers, to be combined with the pure image of a child and the gesture he is performing, that of enter the kingdom of the Lord by being baptized. It is no coincidence that the whole church is usually set up in white, and it is no coincidence that the dress we have talked about is also of the same color. but it is so rare that it is too expensive, so it is recreated by adding a natural dye to the water with which normal roses are watered, “turning” them into blue.
