Few, however, know that the ideal fertilizer for tomato plants are natural fertilizers and, for those who have not understood it, we are talking about fertilizers such as manure and mature manure. These substances contain all the active ingredients that the soil needs and are, by virtue of this, the fertilizers used to carry out the basic fertilizations. The basic fertilizations are those processes of soil preparation that are carried out before planting the plants. The manure should be administered in the autumn period and placed at a depth of about 35 centimeters. The manure will give the soil all the fundamental elements for the growth of the tomato. Another important element, as previously mentioned, it is potassium. In the event that we have soils poor in potassium, the advice is to administer a chemical fertilizer of potassium sulphate. The doses of manure to be administered are 4 kilos per square meter of soil, while for potassium sulphate it is 30 – 40 grams per square meter of soil. Fertilizer for tomatoes: Other fertilizers

Previously we reported the fertilizer par excellence for the cultivation and development of tomato plants but there are also other types of fertilizers that we could use. Instead of manure, for example, we could administer compost or, in case of problems or during the fruiting period, we can administer mineral fertilizers based on ammonium nitrate. The doses for this fertilizer are seven grams per square meter of soil and, the administration, must be divided into two phases. Another substance that would report excellent results in tomatoes is urine. Contrary to what is thought and read, this excellent discovery was made by a study carried out in Finland. Obviously the urine we are talking about is human urine, this substance is the result of hard work done by the kidneys and contains the waste of nitrogenous substances. Urine contains urea, which is a natural substance that has always been used as an organic fertilizer. Although it is an excellent element for fertilization, an excess of urea would risk causing an excess of nitrogen and a lack of other essential minerals for tomatoes. Urine should be used only for basic fertilizations and should be used in very small doses diluted in eight parts of water.
