Nature and gardens

What is the garden if not a replica of the beloved nature that you have right next to your home? For many people the garden is exactly this, they just don’t know it: they hide behind the desire to have a more beautiful home and in this the garden can really add an inimitable touch (and it is a very right desire), or behind wanting to give their children a space where they can play healthy games in the open air (which is a noble will), but in reality they themselves know after some time that the garden conquers them in a different way. After a few months the passion for garden parties with friends is there but she is not as enthusiastic about the news as the first time, the children continue to play undisturbed and this is fine, but inside us, chore after chore for maintenance of this garden of ours,

Natural plant care

One of the operations to do in a garden is certainly to take care of the plants that we have chosen to place inside; it’s a beautiful and exciting thing, but for some years now too many people have decided to do it using the easy hand of chemistry: fertilizers, herbicides, medicines are all things that in a simple home garden do not even have the questionable justification of production economic value they would have on a large farm. It is true that they act immediately and that they have a safe and constant effect, but it is also true that they often reveal long and very long-term side effects, in addition to the fact that they can always be toxic substances. the true care of plants is the natural one, the one done to nature with things of nature: good old manure, compost, the work of the hoe and the arms, the true passion and the care of the plants with the heart are not myths, but they are real things that have accompanied the work in the fields for centuries and that our great-grandparents could teach us very well. There is a way to naturally take care of plants, and it is much simpler and more interesting than what people think.

Organic fertilizer

The organic fertilizer is the first protagonist, with sincere love for plants, natural plant care; the name fertilizer, which today makes you think of chemicals, actually originated with him, because it really is something that makes the land where our plants live fertile. Well, what is this organic fertilizer made from? There are three types: there is organic fertilizercomposed of manure, i.e. the excrement of large farm animals (such as horses, cows, oxen) fed naturally; there is compost, which is a very natural fertilizer obtained by exploiting the natural chemical reactions that nature causes when organic food residues are accumulated together in particular conditions. The third type of natural fertilizer is exactly the sum of the two already mentioned, that is a mixture of manure and compost, in parts to be decided according to the composition of the compost, but above all the type of soil on which to spread it and the plants to be treated. It should be emphasized that all these solutions are powerful fertilizers, to the point that in excessive quantities and / or out of period they could burn the roots of the plant due to an overdose of substances.

Methods of production and use

We feel we can overlook the method of manure production because it is somewhat obvious, but it must be specified that it must be taken from animals raised naturally and not in production farms where hormones or other substances can also be administered for various purposes (these would go in the faeces, polluting them ). Manure is a really powerful fertilizer, so it should only be used for large plants such as fruit and about every two or three years. The compost is produced following some indications that you can find in some specialized books but above all on our site, where we also recommend a composter, or a container that has air vents in the right places and the right dimensions to ensure the correct chemical reaction. necessary. A tip for the production of compost in the garden: avoid putting meat residues in it, but abound in pruning leaves and branches and in natural food residues such as fruit and vegetable peels. The indication of our expert is that if the compost is fragrant then it means that the “right” reactions are taking place, if instead it stinks then there is something that is not to be found especially in the conditions in which we have compost, that is with few lapels and also for example with excessive humidity and watering. Compost is also powerful and therefore to be used with caution, but it is more suitable than manure for small plants. if, on the other hand, it stinks then there is something wrong to look for especially in the conditions in which we have compost, that is with few implications and also for example with excessive humidity and watering.
