Furnish the garden

Our home is an untouchable and sacred place; very many people (except for the very lucky few who are heiresses) make enormous sacrifices, often for most of their lives, to build or buy their own house, that is, a house that we do not pay every month just to breathe in but that is really ours. For those who can afford it from an economic point of view and who have the «logistical» luck of a place or a particular conformation of the house that allows it, the garden becomes an extra resource for the house, due to its aesthetic value. and monetary, but above all for the people who live there. In fact, it is now well known and established that the home garden is a refuge against the stress of everyday life, a place that even just looking at it or thinking about it while we are in the car or on the train returning from a day of hard work makes us feel better. Well, from an aesthetic point of view it completes our home, giving it a certainly better look when viewed from the outside, while from the inside it adds satisfaction and a new and different space to live. The home garden, however, must still be cared for and furnished, so much so that there are specialized shops and professional firms of this kind of work.

Construction and maintenance

We used two terms in the previous paragraph regarding the garden, two verbs on what to do: “well-kept” and “furnished”. Many readers will imagine that furnishing is a preliminary operation, that is, to be done during the construction phase of the garden; it is in fact here that we imagine that phase where in the head of the owner of the garden there is the «design» of how it should come, the same phase in which shops, shopping centers, internet sites and gardens of acquaintances go round and round in search of the inspiration and some furniture that we might like. Instead, as regards the care of the garden itself, it is easy to imagine that it is a maintenance type operation, to be done consistently throughout our life and that of the garden itself. Actually, however, the reality is a little different and anyone who owns a garden will know it for sure: the decoration of a garden never ends, because every day we can happen to pass near a garden of a villa and see a particular furniture. or small object that we like, or a product strikes us in the window or in the showroom of a shop and so we decide to equip ourselves with it, even if our garden is already in its final configuration. For the care then the speech made is right: they are small operations to be carried out with great constancy, to always keep the garden as new. or a product strikes us in the window or in the showroom of a shop and so we decide to equip ourselves with it, even if our garden is already in its final configuration. Iron canopies

One of the most common furnishings in a garden are the canopies; they are narrow streets built in various materials, very useful for offering a little shelter to people and things in an open space like that of a garden. If we reflect a little on it, we will find many gardens of our knowledge that have even more than one, but they are so «taken for granted», because they are very common, that we hardly notice them anymore and it is not automatic to classify them as garden furniture. In fact, canopies are so common because they are very useful in many situations: to protect the exit from the weather so that we do not get wet as soon as we go out the door or to avoid getting wet when we are outside waiting for them to open; or canopies are used to protect the place where we park our car, or if we have a corner of the garden with work tools, water and electricity connections, to protect it together with the tools of the trade. In short, the uses are varied and imaginative.

Functional characteristics

We have previously mentioned some of the more classic uses of canopies; now we will talk about the most used materials, a very important aspect both from an economic point of view, but also from the point of view of aesthetics and safety. In fact, not all people can faint to have a beautiful roof in precious wood, even if many would like it; not only that, as many people would like a “Hawaii” style garden and a canopy made of reeds and straw, or with fresh and regenerating palm leaves, but how long would it last with the bad weather of our climate? And here obviously safety problems arise, because the structure in unsuitable material could collapse and damage cars, tools or other objects. Also from the aesthetic point of view the discourse must be of interest, both because the shed must not clash with the garden in which it is located, but above all because it must satisfy the tastes of the owner. Well, the most used material, because it satisfies above all from the point of view of the purchase economy and structural safety, is iron: with the necessary protection against rust, it can guarantee a robustness compared to the exceptional purchase price, as well as a discreet metallic appearance that is not to be disdained in many cases.
