The pharmacy-nature

The path of growth and evolution that man has had since he was born up to our days has always been accompanied by that Mother Nature who created him; in one way or another man has always needed nature to live and often also to survive: just think that what we eat today is always originated from natural products even if it is totally “artificial” given the processes it undergoes , but above all what our ancestors ate has always come from nature, and we are therefore talking about plants, animals and everything we have eaten in thousands and thousands of years. In short, man has always thought of nature as a source of solutions for his needs, and this happened even when the primary need was not hunger but health, which often was missing in a definitive way due to problems that today we would define as “ridiculous” (even if unfortunately they still cannot be defined as such in every part of our planet); from the first day this problem arose, the first subject of studies has always been the plant world: extracts, sap, tinctures, herbs, fruits and everything that could be “extrapolated” from plants has always been used by man to heal or at least make himself feel better.

Essential oils

Continuing the speech of the first paragraph, the most beautiful and interesting aspect is that the first men had really seen us right: plants have been and still are the first source of nourishing, purifying substances and many active ingredients very useful for our health and contained in a large number of medicines. Among the many ways to obtain positive effects from plants there is one particularly common: essential oil. For better or worse, each plant can be, with certain processes, subjected to the extraction of its essential oils, that is a concentrate obtained above all from flowers and leaves that shows to have a very high density of nutritional elements. This happens because when you take essential oils from plants, it acts above all on its lymphatic part and on the “oily” part typical of the inside of the leaves; both of these places are used by the plant to store those nutrients (which we want) for its survival. With the essential oils of many plants it is possible to act both on the external part of the body (hydration of the skin, speedy healing of wounds and burns and many other effects) and on the internal part, because making these oils drinkable and pleasant to the taste, it is provided to the body a very positive concentrate, a sort of multivitamin that couldn’t be more natural.

Lavender oil

Lavender is a shrubby flowering plant that grows spontaneously in many areas of the planet, but is above all famous for the violet-lilac of its flowers and for the intense and fresh scent of the flowers themselves, capable of scenting any environment making it pleasant to live in. . In this article, however, we want to focus on the essential oil of lavender, which many people always keep at home to use it on the most diverse occasions; in fact this extract of the lavender plant (from the information we have collected, it appears that it is obtained both from the leaves and from the flowers) has shown to have more than one interesting application, both for personal care and for that of home. First of all we reiterate that it is an excellent fragrance for rooms, and the advice is to place a drop in the water containers of the radiators (even when they are not turned on) so that it can spread slowly and uniformly with the natural evaporation of the water. Likewise, its scent power can be harnessed in cabinets and drawers by placing a cotton ball soaked in a few drops of lavender oil in a corner.

Lavender oil: Benefits of lavender

A surplus that many women will appreciate of lavender in wardrobes and drawers is its ability to ward off moths and provide a good smell to all clothing, a fragrance that is never intrusive and suitable for both men and women. But not only that, lavender essential oil can be used as an effective remedy against acne and pimples by massaging the face with cotton wool wet with the oil in question; the same goes for headaches, when two drops on the temples and a message are enough to relieve it. A massage with lavender oil that relieves pain can also be done with the pains of the menstrual cycle, obviously massaging the affected areas of the abdomen. For the care of our children, lavender essential oil can help in the prevention of lice (mothers with children in kindergarten will immediately understand the importance of this information): use in this case can be both as a shampoo and as a anointing for the comb and subsequent complete and prolonged combing. But not only that, often intense scents (even if delicate like lavender) are also capable of warding off insects: we will notice this effect especially with mosquitoes, which in summer are a serious problem. In this regard, a drop of lavender oil on an insect bite helps relieve the feeling of discomfort it causes. often the intense scents (even if delicate like lavender) are also capable of warding off insects: we will notice this effect especially with mosquitoes, which in summer are a serious problem.
