Outdoor whirlpools

The first to use a bathtub were the Greeks, who invented it 17 centuries before Christ, exactly in the palace of Knossos in Crete. From this moment the use of the bathtub began to expand, in fact in the third century BC the Romans began to create huge tubs in which to bathe using perfumes and fragrances for their own well-being. In the first half of the 19th century the tanks began to be made of zinc, then of copper and cast iron and also of stone, being very heavy (from 25 kg for those in zinc up to 130 kg for those in cast iron and stone), therefore the builders began to look for new lighter materials, in fact around the end of the century they began to use materials such as porcelain and ceramics (our current tanks will arrive only in the mid-twentieth century).

In 1956 the sanitary ware manufacturer Francesco Jacuzzi, having a son suffering from rheumatoid arthritis that makes him suffer a lot and the only treatments to alleviate his suffering cost a lot, decides to introduce a pump in the bathtub that introduces air into the water, thus creating large massaging bubbles that help the child to feel better.

In 1968 the descendant Roy understood that the invention of this tub with massaging bubbles had a lot of potential and was certainly a novelty on the market and thus began the first mass production of the whirlpool tub.

Since then, the hot tub has become a prestigious object used for everyday use, but also for spas, relaxation and amusement parks.

Outdoor whirlpool: materials, models and its benefits

Over the years the whirlpools have evolved not only for their operation, but also for their resistance to external elements, in fact various types of materials have been created according to the needs and for a longer duration.

To date, the most sought-after for the outdoors are those made with heat-insulating and weather-resistant, UV-resistant and impact-resistant and scratch-resistant materials, these quality standards are found above all in Nordic fir, in modern thermal-insulating Nylon and in acrylic. with polyurethane.

Of these materials there are some examples of tubs for example:

– the tub-shaped tub: in the shape of a barrel in which the water is heated by a wood-burning stove in stainless steel;

– inflatable hydromassage pool: it is made of Nylon and heat-insulating material to withstand various external factors and UV rays and is easy to assemble and transport;

– the hydromassage mini-pool: they are the most resistant and comfortable, thus guaranteeing a feeling of total relaxation and well-being.

Unlike what is said, hot tubs are an excellent gift that you can give yourself, creating a small oasis of relaxation in your garden, in fact the main benefits for which are:

– Relaxation: with hot water we can relax our muscles and relieve everyday tensions;

– Eliminate stress: using the alternation of cold and hot jets, it allows us to eliminate tiredness and heaviness that accumulate during the day;

– Tone up: using nourishing creams and hydromassage with cold water you get excellent results;

– Massage and sculpt: using the jets of water on certain areas of the body, you can counteract the stagnation of liquids and cellulite, in fact you can use aromas based on algae, lemon, rosemary, sage, juniper, cypress and oregano.

Outdoor whirlpool: operation and installation

whirlpools now have advanced technology, comfort and an extraordinary design, in fact they owe a lot to their internal mechanism with which it is possible to have these benefits.

The action of the hydromassage is regulated by a pump and by the various pipes connected to the different water delivery outlets and this is based on the physical principle of the Venturi effect, that is the pump that sucks water from the filter hole, the it flows into the delivery outlets, where they mix the water with the air (Venturi effect) and finally the massaging jet is created. In doing so, the air, which is moved by the force of the water, splits into a myriad of micro-bubbles which, hitting our skin, break, thus releasing the oxygen that favors the dilation of our vessels.

At the time of purchasing one of these tanks, as there has been an evolution, the structure will consist of the pump, the motor and the hydraulic system, making sure that during installation only the water connection will have to be provided. and the electrical connection.

For its installation, however, attention must be paid to some aspects:

– the weight of the tank: it is important to check that the surface on which the tank is to be placed can support the weight of it when it is full, usually a base of cement and concrete is created;

– at the water connection: in the place where you want to put the tub you have to make an entrance for the water inlet and discharge;

– to the power socket: the connection must be made via an electrical socket with a safety switch, checking that consumption is compatible with the power of your electricity supply.

Outdoor whirlpool maintenance

Most of the hot tubs of a certain level have already included an automatic disinfestation system of the technical parts, instead for those that do not have it, cleaning must be done by hand.

In this case there are some rules to follow:

– balance the water in the tank: it is used to control the pH value and the hardness of the water, thus avoiding limescale deposits and alkalinity, which causes skin and eye irritation, so a specific anti-limescale and pH correctors are used -Minus or ph-Plus and Alca-plus by Bayrol;

– carry out a basic treatment once a week for the disinfestation of the water: for it you must use SPA Pure by Bayrol with which you can prevent and keep the water clear, crystalline and clean;

– disinfect the water: thanks to the high temperature of the water used in the whirlpools, it is the ideal environment for bacteria, in fact every time the tub is used it is important that it is disinfected especially for our health;

– filter water: these tanks have a water recirculation system that allows excess dirt to be retained to allow you to always have clean water. So this filter must be cleaned at least once a month, using a cartridge filter cleaner that is dissolved in ten liters of water, thus cleaning the filter in a few hours;

– replace the water regularly: it must be changed based on the liters of water that the tub contains and by how many people it is used daily.

If these simple tips are followed, the life of your hot tub will increase.
