The garden in the house

Owning a garden in your home is a wonderful thing for yourself and for the rest of the family; first of all we know that the garden has become a real panacea for the nerves, for the mind that nowadays is increasingly stressed by thoughts, commitments, pressures in the workplace, deadlines (especially tax, but not only) and everything that makes us arrive in the evening destroyed as if we had carried the world on our shoulders. In reality, the garden contributes, and those who own and live it can testify, to make us relax, because it offers a double service: the first is to give us a quiet place and everything for us, where we can relax without anyone asking us for the place. on the bench and without any closing time, the second instead is to give us one more opportunity to live a hobby, or in any case to do physical activity different from the usual and above all in the open air, since the care and maintenance jobs for the garden often become a pleasant habit. All this has done and still means that the garden is in great demand in the various “options” that a modern house must have, much more than the old trends that saw, for example, an exceptional demand for huge and sometimes disproportionate environments, like a house for almost two hundred square meters and various little-used rooms such as living rooms (meters that we can no longer afford today due to the taxes to which the house is also subject).

Children in the garden

We have just enunciated and exalted the positive and inimitable effect that the home garden manages to have on our mind, its ability to chase away stress and reconcile us with real life, which – we remember – is not working life, even if more and more people live to work and don’t work to live. A category of people who really love the garden, however, is that of children: they are little people full of joy and curiosity, able to amaze us with the sincerity mixed with that thread of eternal smile that unfortunately we almost all lose as we grow up. they love to play, they love to discover new things and new places, they love the outdoors: all this is the perfect description of a garden, which like very few other things can boast of allowing them to play outdoors, move and discover their body with different activities than usual, discover the world of plants and flowers marveling at the scents and colors they have, and all this in a safe and familiar environment, which we ourselves can control because we take care of it and therefore we are sure of what they step on and what they fall on. this last aspect is of vital importance for every parent, who knows the vulnerability of their children and who knows that in a part of the garden he can be – moderately – serene and relax in turn.

Games for children

Although an environment like the garden can guarantee a series of new experiences (of which we made a short summary list in the previous paragraph) to children, their curiosity and all their energy cannot be satisfied by that “little”. They still need some news, they need to move and play, they need to kick a ball twice and throw it into a basket, they need to play chase the balls and see where they have gone by throwing them with their eyes closed. This means that the parent who is lucky enough to have a garden near their home must already plan to buy some equipment, even very small, to allow their children to have fun playing in this beautiful place. For the most romantic, the games that will come to mind first are surely the swing and the slide: these two classics of outdoor play are truly timeless, because just as they entertained children of sixty and more years ago, they also entertain children of today. It will therefore be enough to buy a small plastic slide or build a small but resistant swing (it’s simpler than you might think) to give your children a game that they will appreciate very much and that they can do yes in the open air, benefiting their health. but in the total safety of a familiar place controlled by the parent himself.

Sports games

Starting from the base of the classic park games such as the slide and the swing (but we can list others, such as the pinwheel, or the obstacle course, or the rope and the rings), we will immediately notice how, despite the great fun with which they are used, our children’s patience will soon run out; what drives them is their curiosity, because they don’t abandon a game out of nastiness but simply because they want to discover new things. at this point it is the case that the parents, and especially the fathers (who, we must say, are probably not expecting anything else), decide to buy some sports equipment: there are many possibilities to set up a “field in the garden”, starting from the doors from football and arriving at the basketball hoop, passing through the tennis net or the volleyball net, the baseball pitcher, the rugby or American football goals. The possibilities are endless, and increased even more if we are objectively lucky enough to be able to afford a swimming pool with a garden. We will immediately see that children will easily allow themselves to be conquered by sporting activity, but not very easily will they be able to abandon it, because sport and the balls that you have to throw / catch / hit / etc are really magnets for the attention of children (and , we repeat, of fathers who were not really expecting anything else). and increase even more if we are objectively lucky enough to be able to afford a swimming pool with a garden.
