Nature heals us

The conflictual relationship that man is having with nature in recent times goes against everything that is our history, our life and ourselves; in fact, even if today as human beings we occupy a dominant position on planet Earth, this does not mean that it is our property and we can dispose of it at will to the point of nullifying every resource and / or (which is worse) destroying the habitats of others occupants of this accumulation of rock that circumnavigates the Sun in 365 days and odds. Unfortunately, however, this often happens, and the consequence is the extinction of many species, among which the most evident are those of animals of course, but there are also many plants that have almost disappeared from the face of the Earth, with serious loss for all of us. But what is more serious, and let’s go back to the original discourse, is that in this way we despise nature, we push it away, we destroy it little by little, when instead it has endowed us with a fantastic and resourceful world with which to live our lives very well. Not only that, with many of its creations Nature takes care of us and very often takes care of us for real.

The phytotherapeutic culture

In the last decade an important healthy and naturalistic lifestyle has been spreading around the world, which sees the use of exclusively natural things in the foreground; the “creed” of this philosophy of life is this, then obviously there are those who interpret it, those who marry it in full and who only partially, fortunately there is free will without which it would not be worth thinking about it. Much of this culture reverberates on clothing, with the choice of exclusively natural and naturally treated fibers (especially for coloring, which made artificially requires a lot of chemicals); we are therefore talking about cotton, linen, wool instead of all the artificial fibers on the market today. Another part of this philosophy is instead for the care of the person, his well-being and health: in this case it is a radical choice, because it implies the abandonment of classic medicines (those unnecessary, however, such as self-medication drugs that we all abuse, without affecting the medical treatment of the most serious diseases, because we want to remember that we must ALWAYS RELY ON DOCTORS AND FOLLOW THEIR DIRECTIONS, we do not want to be misunderstood in any way). As examples we could talk about insomnia, treated with chamomile and valerian (two herbs) instead of sleeping pills. we don’t want to be misunderstood in any way). Dandelion mother tincture

A plant that is enjoying great success in the context of this phytotherapeutic philosophy of life (by the way, at times we forgot to explain the meaning of the word: literally “treat yourself with plants”, it does not need further clarification) is the dandelion; we are sure that many will say they do not know this plant, but in reality we all know it because it is a perennial herb that grows in the plains, hills and low mountains (up to about two thousand meters above sea level) spontaneously on the edge of roads or in any case in wild and uncultivated land. It is recognized for being a maximum of twenty centimeters high, characterized by some leaflets that start from the base of the plant in the ground and by a single stem that supports a small tuft of yellow flowers, made up of very recognizable and characteristic thin petals. The mother tincture of this plant, or its concentrated liquid extract, is a substance that can have a series of positive effects on our body, but which is mainly used as a total purifier: the substances it contains have an immediate effect on both the system digestive (from the intestine to the kidneys, passing through the biliary ducts and liver) and both on the skin, immediately brighter and more toned with its intake.

Method and dosage

For those who are recently accustomed to phytotherapeutic culture, the art of herbal medicine and its secrets, it is good to explain what is meant by mother tincture and how it is obtained. In general, dry extracts and liquid extracts can be obtained from plants; the dried ones are generally dried and chopped plant parts, which can then be used in this form (think of chamomile and tea filters) or compressed and reduced into pills to be ingested. Liquid extracts, on the other hand, must be obtained with somewhat more complicated processes, where the plant is often put into solution and subsequently cooked to obtain everything necessary. Well, in particular the mother tincture is so called because it has a certain alcoholic percentage, sometimes very significant. All this is due to the ability of pure alcohol to isolate and retain some substances, which, on the other hand, cannot be isolated with water. By immersing the parts of dandelion (for what we need we take the roots and / or the flowers) in a solution of a little water and a lot of alcohol and heating while mixing and chopping everything, the substances will discharge in the solution that will thus have all the effects indicated. Depending on the concentration, it should be taken in a certain quantity, better read the specific instructions. the substances will discharge into the solution which will thus have all the indicated effects.
