Natural remedies: eye bath for conjunctivitis, blepharitis, red, irritated eyes

The fennel  is a natural remedy traditionally used to treat conjunctivitis, blepharitis, eye irritation , also when they are red, swollen, tired or just to wash, cool and clean the eyes.

Eye bath improves blood circulation and strengthens overall vision.

Ingredients to make the fennel eye bath :

* 1/2 tablespoon fennel seeds

* 100 ml of boiling water

* 2 eye tubs

Elaboration:

Put the fennel seeds in a glass and add the boiling water, cover it for 10 minutes, drain and let cool.

How to perform the eye bath:

Pour the cold fennel infusion into each bath (remember to use the same for each eye in case of infection, thus avoiding passing it from one eye to another). Put the bathtub over the eye for a minute.

There are many types of eye baths

.

Eye tubs are small containers that adapt to the shape of the eyes. When you have the bathtub in, open and close your eye several times so that the fennel infusion can do its job. After a minute remove the bathtub and blink several times. Repeat with the other eye

It can be done three times a day when there is an infection, if it is due to tired, irritated, swollen or red eyes you can use it 3 or 4 times a week. (These are general indications, consult with the corresponding professional to indicate the best option in your particular case).

In case you cannot find the eye baths, you can also use a gauze soaked in the fennel infusion and put several drops on the eye, blink several times and repeat again. It is not the same as using the eye baths but it is also very helpful.
